The Design of the Iphone 6s+
The iPhone 6S+ looks very similar to theiPhone 6 Plus, but is slightly thicker and heavier. A new rose gold coloured model will be joining the existing space gray, silver, and gold model.
Display & Cameras
iPhone 6S+ features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, which is the same size and resolution as its predecessor.
The screen however is now fortified by sapphire crystal glass and ion strengthened glass with oleophobic coating.
The new display supports pressure sensing technology, which Apple calls 3D Touch. 3D Touch offers a new way of interacting with an iPhone 6S Plus.
With 3D Touch you can access different features of the phone depending on how hard or how lightly you press on the screen.
iPhone 6S+ gets a camera upgrade on both sides. On the rear the 8 MP camera has been dropped for a 12 megapixels camera with sapphire crystal lens cover.
The camera can record 4k ultra HD videos and can even record 4k videos while simultaneously snapping 8 megapixels still photos.
The rear camera also features optical image stabilisation (OIS), dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, and HDR.
Apple also upgraded the front facing camera to make it better suited for a selfie crazy world. The iPhone 6S Plus features a 5 megapixels FaceTime camera.
Apple also added what it calls Retina flash, which brightens the screen so that it can be used as a flash for the front camera.
Hardware & Software
iPhone 6S+ features a new A9 chip, which Apple claims offers a 70% faster CPU and 90% faster graphics. It chip is also embedded with the M9 motion co-processor.
Touch ID and Apple Pay are still part of the mix. The new phone will run on iOS 9. iPhone 6S+ is available in 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB with no slot for expanding the storage.
The more recent iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus comes with the A10 Fusion chip, which Apple says is 40% faster than the A9 chip.
The smartphone sports a 2915 mAh battery and offers a decent battery life. iPhone 6S Plus does not have native support for wireless charging. However, there are some cases you can buy to add wireless charging capability to your smartphone.
